Biography

My Name is Skylar Williams. I was born in Havre, MT and lived on the Rocky Boy Reservation till I was about 5 years old when we moved to Billings and here I've lived ever since. Growing up was rough, family was basically non-existent, I experienced homelessness at a young age and taken out of school at 7th grade. I have been lifted up by the guardian families who have taken me in and taught me finances, history, and in general the things I needed to get through life. They helped me attend the Job Corps Program in Anaconda, MT where I studied carpentry and the Montana Hi-Set. Politics first peaked my interest around then as well, what is a "Government program" and what other programs are in place to help people? It was then I learned about the party system that shouldn't exist, The Bill of Rights, The U.S. Constitution, what they stand for and it gave me an idea of what we should be as Americans. The older I got the more I learned about the various tribes around Montana , I learned of my heritage and now seek to represent the Tribal Nations and the great State of Montana to the United States Federal Government.
